Battling Insomnia

Updated: Nov 6, 2019

If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you are already suffering from #insomnia, and you have already discovered that a lack of sleep affects our energy levels, concentration, memory and our ability to think clearly. It is also known that it affects our immune system, making us more susceptible to infections, viruses, and other problems.

Of course, for many, getting off to sleep is not the problem, but experiencing disturbing dreams, or waking in the wee small hours of the morning will still produce the same stress hormones in rest as when fully awake... So as you can see, a good night’s sleep is vital in maintaining our health and wellbeing.

Using hypnosis we can get the client to relax deeply, it’s worth noting that after suffering broken sleep for so long it is not uncommon for them to fall asleep in my chair.

Once we have established the cause of their insomnia, I ask the client to imagine the perfect scenario for them, i.e., walking on a tropical beach, or strolling through beautiful countryside, in fact, whatever is pertinent to them. I then create a personal download or CD that they can listen to in the comfort of their own home. The problem is usually eradicated in the first week.

Treatment for insomnia has proven so popular, clients often return asking how to leverage the benefits of Hypnotherapy further; even though their original sleeping problem has long gone, they still enjoy relaxing to this kind of imagery.

This particular treatment has also proved very beneficial with children often using a story of their favourite characters in the same way.
